Given that we’re drumming up financial support for Amphibian Ark to save frogs and salamanders from a mass extinction, the conservation organization will accept donations from public figures — especially those, like Britney Spears, whose last names strike terror in any self-aware frog.  The cost to save an amphibian species — to keep it out of harm’s way from chytrid fungus, to oversee its breeding, and one day to release it back to the wild — is about $100,000.  Save all 500 of the species on Amphibian Ark’s list, and we’re talking $50-$60 million.
